madewell for fall! cruising the internet this morning, i checked in on a site i adore for classic pieces of excellent quaility- madewell brand. i'm pretty much dreading winter, and scared of it as i am every year, but a cozy sweater can really brighten my outlook! AND autumn is just beginning, bringing the most beautiful days of the year in my opinion. i love fall hikes and runs, apple picking, baking, knitting, crisp fresh air... if only autumn wasn't a harbinger of the long and bitter winter! i'm hoping this year i can get away to somewhere warm for a little while... for now, i'm looking forward to fall styles! check out some of my favorite garments from madewell: the striped ex-boyfriend sweater - reminds me so much of a sweater i had in high school, i don't know what happened to it? legging cords - look so comfy, laid back, and sexy at the same time! cambridge cardigan - also reminds me of a cardigan i would borrow from my friend colleen in junior high. it's practical, yet feminine. midnight blazer - again, i'm loving this combination of easy going comfort with a classy edge. it's wool, so like a comfy sweater, but with a blazer cut so it dresses up any outfit! mmmmmm... check out madewell here ---> madewell shop

your purusha order i think a lot about the presentation of purusha: the hang tags, the tags inside the garment, the photos, and of course the look of the package that comes in the mail! my latest lil packaging idea is i sew a small bag out of recycled fabrics, and wrap the clothing up in it! it's easy, and it looks really classy! check it out!

slight clutter photography this morning i woke to see purusha featured in an etsy treasury alongside the seller, 'slight clutter photography'. i was immediately drawn to this photo, as i LOVE deer: 'in the quiet' the treasury is also pretty gorgeous ---> peace & quiet an naturale i love slight clutter's photos because of the feelings they bring about in me- nostalgia, hope, peace, and wonder at the natural world. the pictures are very bittersweet, capturing beautiful moments that we only glimpse for a short time. these are some of my favorites. they are making me feel excited for the short but sweet time that is autumn: 'fog season' 'fall foliage' 'a splash of red' i also adore this one, and would love to get it for my yoga room :) : 'breaking through' check out slight clutter photograpy ---> HERE at www.slightclutter.etsy.com

winter styles the future of purusha is harmony with woman made (still environmentally friendly of course) and natural materials. this winter purusha is looking forward to earth tones with bursts of color and metallics here and there, but overall gentle contrasts. i'll be turning a bit to purusha's roots, in natural dyes. i started out trying natural plant dyes, but as we now know, they faded too much... so i'm thinking i'd like to create some of the same vibrant yet slightly muted looks with synthetics. midnight blacks always look tasteful and classy- but i'd like to go beyond the standard black yoga pant... i'm waiting for my right brain to come up with some ideas on this one! peaches and apricot tones paired with taupes and camel browns... a `la socotra sands yoga pants here: and lotus with raw umber shown in the new beginnings pants: i'm really looking forward to the day i can afford to use some more eco friendly fabrics- modal blends, organic cottons, tencel. i'm also thinking of sewing some of my own t-shirts again- looser more draping fits that flatter every figure and pair beautifully with tighter fitting yoga pants. look out for monogrammed and uniquely screen printed purusha pillowcases coming soon to etsy! handmade by me out of 100% silk :).. should be lovely! in fact... i am headed to my sewing machine right now! xoxo

socotra i am dying to visit this place, socotra, off the coast of yemen. it is one of the most isolated and alien like places on earth! more than 1/3 of the plant life is found nowhere else in the world! so incredible! i have been yearning for a good travel somewhere, but my finances will not allow it right now :( whenever i feel a bit tired and like i don't want to work on purusha- i just look at photos of socotra. to set foot on that paradise is one of my goals in life. i am excited for that day!

purusha essential oil perfumes i am a big essential oil fan, especially super concentrated essential oils, like those sold at nantucket natural oils. my mom and i visited this shop in nantucket a few summers ago, and we laugh because i loved the woman that worked there! she had me in a spell, with her european accent and knowledge of aromas she tested on my wrist. hehe... if i could i would buy sooo many wonderful magical fragrances from nantucket natural oils! they're incredible and smell beautiful, yet the scents are very light and don't have that chemical alcohol smell that many perfumes have (make me a bit nauseous!). scents are so powerful, and can easily conjure up a memory you didn't even know was there. smells can be mildly seductive, transporting you to a special feeling, to another place, to a certain mood... an aroma i've been loving recently is angel's trumpet. i realize it is a very poisonous plant you can trip balls on!, but the smell... man it's enticing! it is powdery and feminine, tropical and sultry! one reason i love it is because there is a large bush (or tree?!) of it growing outside my sister and my best friend's apartments in santa barbara, california. so when i smell it, it brings my heart and mind right back to some positive feminine energies that i truly love :) i noticed a neighbor down my street has a few trumpet flowers in her yard, and i love to stop by and inhale them for a few minutes! ahhhhh.... if i could get my hands on an angel's trumpet essential oil i would be very happy! angel's trumpet another scent i like a whole lot is the smell of ferns! so summery, wild, and energizing! i enjoy taking deep breaths of their invigorating clean smell while running through the woods! the aroma of ferns makes me feel like i am smelling nature that is untouched by humans. i'd also love to find a fern essential oil perfume somewhere. fern once purusha has grown, i plan to create purusha scents. perfumes or oils are items that every woman desires, especially scents that a woman can feel are truly HER. a female's aroma can say so much about who she is. it can also bring a person to that mindset that she wants to be in, or towards the woman she aspires to be! someday i will create these scents, just not yet.... :) ♥

lace waist soooo i got a coupon in the mail from victoria's secret for a free pair of lace waist hip hugger panties... first, i admire that victoria's secret can do this, because it got me into the store. i normally don't think to shop at vic's, but i found some really sweet bras, seamless panties, and bikinis! they make the sexiest swim suits! i didn't buy anything, just picked up the free undies, but it got me thinking about how i like victoria's secret. i'd love to do some kind of fun little free coupon thing for purusha in the future. i was doing free boy short panties with every order over $50. i put this in my announcement on my etsy page, but i don't know if anyone noticed?! many customers were happily surprised when they received their free gift! anyway, i was curious after shopping to check out the victoria's secret website. i also was thinking... lace waist panties... similar to the lace waist yoga pants i make, but of course not nearly the same.... and then to my dismay i saw that victoria's secret is now selling their own lace waist yoga pants!!! i doubt they knew about purusha's lace waist yoga pants, but it just goes to show that ideas travel. once something is out there, especially in fashion, it's like a seed that somehow gets spread... this makes me think that i should never procrastinate with a new idea- just go for it before someone else comes up with it! halle's yoga pants from purusha last winter victoria's secret lace waist yoga pants for this fall i am back on a computer, thanks to my family that's always there to help me out! i know i couldn't create this business without the support and love from my parents. i am so blessed :)! my next post is going to be about essential oil blended perfumes... lovin em, and i want to share some ideas! ♥ hayley
