over the weekend...

aaah this weekend was so great.  shouldn't every weekend be 3 days?  i think so.  4 days work, 3 days off, sounds about right.

what did you do this weekend my dears?  anything awesome and exciting?!

i must say i didn't do too much, and that was just how i wanted it!  i've been mad busy (in a good way of course) with purusha and yoga, it felt so nice to take a break from it all.  i ate, drank, played outside, and was very merry :).

and now today i feel totally refreshed and ready to bounce back into my agenda!  unfortunately i start jury duty tomorrow all the way in manchester, so i may have to put my life on hold... i'm crossing my fingers i'll get dismissed or it'll be cancelled.. please please please wish for me to not go too, won't you?!

one of the really cool things i did this weekend was visit the mysterious foam dome in new hartford!

.
it is so strange, yet beautiful..

yay new friends ashley, chris, and maple!

cutie laura peaking through!

story is...
2 guys built the foam dome out of wire, wood, and foam for a school project back in the 50's.  they were lovers, tripped on acid there, and supposedly killed each other!  not sure if this is true, but it's been heard from 2 different sources.  there really isn't too much info out there about this place; and it definitely holds a mystery, you can just feel it.

the whole building concept is so brilliantly creative.  it's such a shame it's turning into ruins and has been vandalized.  we were all thinking and imagining what it must have looked like when it was first built, as it looks like it had a loft, counters in a kitchen, a fireplace, an upstairs little sleeping area...

mr. rocky guy!

pondering the place

looks at these neat stairs!

hello phil!

this creepy 'lil place makes me want to build a home deep in the woods, or in a canyon, or in the mountains.

how cool to be living with nature in a funky little place- i am envisioning my dream home one day... lots of windows, loads of wood/nature inspired furniture, built frank lloyd wright style so it becomes a part of the landscape.  i love dreaming of the future :).

i hope you all had a peaceful weekend, and are feeling bright and happy.  summer is here!  sending you positive thoughts and loving energy!

happy birthday puppy boy!

today is my special dog liam's birthday.  he's 6!

i love this little guy soooo much.  he has taught me so much about patience, understanding, and love over the past 6 years.  sometimes patrick and i joke that having kids will be a let down after him- liam is just so sweet, receptive, open, innocent, funny, and he'll never grow up and leave us!  now if only we can find a way to make him live forever... ;)

today i made liam (and pat and i too!) his favorite breakfast- scarmbled eggs, chocolate chip flax seed pancakes, and a berry smoothie.  this afternoon we are taking liam to his favorite dog park in granby where he'll go swimming and romp around, then we're stopping by petco (liam calls it pecco's) to get him some treats and his favorite organic banana peanut butter frozen yogurt by yoghund and he'll sniff dogfood and bark at ferrets and stand at the register, then he and i will go for a run at the reservoir, and tonight i'm going to make liam peanut butter cookies after his veggie and rice dinner!!  WOAH!

liam is spoiled i realize, but trust me, he deserves it!  liam has been such a dear presence in patrick and i's lives and is pretty much an integral part of our love.  we are a happy little family :)!

i gathered up some photos of my prince baby guy (yes i call him this, ridiculous right?!) over the years.  enjoy!

my little fam.

dogs are so incredible, and relationships with them are beautiful- selfless, kind, simple, and pure.  if we just let them teach us, we can learn so much from animals.

happy birthday liam!!!!!!

my dream hero.

hi there my sweets.  how are ya today?!

photo c/o racey tay

so last night i went to bed like any old night, and slept like i usually sleep.  somehow though some special things happened!

at around 5 am i was having a nightmare.  i dreamt that i was in my old bedroom at my parent's house with patrick.  we were sleeping in my bed when early in the morning we saw horses at the window!  i woke up (in the dream) frightened and startled to see horses, and then i became terrified for some reason as they were bumping their noses at the window!  the horses became kinda hysteric and were throwing themselves through the windows, breaking the glass and getting in my room!

photo c/o william dohman

and then once the horses broke through the windows they just ran straight through the house, didn't even stop in my room.  so i wondered, why was i so afraid?  they are just running through, almost like a scene in jumanji. i am wondering today what this dream meant?

then it get's weirder/cooler!  at this moment i was awoken from my dream by patrick, in real life.  he gently shook me and i confusedly exited my subconsciousness and into his conscious embrace.  i was still trembling a bit with fear, as i had just a moment ago almost gotten run over by a horse!

pat said, 'you woke me up because you were rolling around and moaning in fear.  i felt like i should rescue you from your nightmare, so i woke you up!"

aw.  at that moment i felt so safe.  there is nothing to fear in my dreams and those that love me always have my back ;)  our loved ones are here to help, and every relationship in our lives is a gift.

and we get what we give.  putting out love and kindness to all the people we meet, whether over the internet or in person, is what life is all about.  the exchange of positive loving energy is really my ultimate passion in everything i do, i am addicted to the affirmation that what i am doing is good and helpful.

as patrick and i lay in bed this early morn, we also got to hear a chorus of birds outside our window, singing to the sun rising, as part of their loving exchange.

i kindly thank you for the sharing in my life and my thoughts.  i am so thankful for this gift of love between you and i.  xo

p.s. if anyone has some ideas about what my dream meant, please share!  :)

one of a kind tuesday!

why hello there!  how are you?

unfortunately patrick had to rush off to work before i could ask him to get some photos of me in these hot little shortie shorts!

see them here! ---> new beginnings hot yoga shorts

they are perfect for running, hiking, easy biking, sweaty yoga- whatever your active pleasure!

i promise i will get a photo of me in them asap! :)  these photos just don't quite do the shorts justice i'm afraid!

i love the shorts because you can roll 'em up and make 'em short, or...

you can wear them as is, like yoga bermuda shorts!

the chant on the back always speaks to me- om namah shivaya.  i realize it is dedicated to the god shiva, so i kinda interpret it in my own way, as an atheist/agnostic/whatever you want to call me...

i believe we can find values in myths, and inspiration can still be drawn from stories perhaps we once believed to be true before we knew better.  shiva is the destroyer god, the god of death, hehe the grim reaper in a way!  but i look at shiva more like a symbol of our own opportunities for rebirth while living on this earth.  we can always start over, come clean, and begin again.  hence, new beginnings.  it is never too late to say you're sorry, to offer forgiveness, or to change something you don't like about yourself or your surroundings.  these shorts are a nice lil reminder of our unique power as conscious beings to CHANGE.  ah ;).

i hope you all have a beautiful day, and perhaps let go of something you are holding on to that isn't necessary for you any longer :).

and please check back here tomorrow for my first purusha giveaway!  woohoo!
